So, what are your opinions on Valentines day? Got any plans? Dont like it? hoping to find that special person?

Personally, I dont like it. But feel free to dissagree with me, Im the OP, ill allow it.

Its just another way for companies to make money, and restaurants to add more money to their menus.

I enjoy it as the gf always buys a new set of 'special' underwear, and enjoy spending a bit of time together.

I can see how many people dont like it though as it is just another day to spend over the odds!

Hmmm...on the fence. Im not a fan of the fact that its become another money making exercise and so commercialised. However, I like the idea behind it and that it's a day that people can use to express their love in original ways that don't necessarily require loads of dosh.. wouldn't say no to an audi R8 though if they wanted :)

I think if you are in a relationship, its probably the most un-romantic day of the year. I much prefer to send or bring home flowers spontaneously.

If you are single though, its a good day to let that someone know you've got the hots for them...

Oh god. Another year of being single gone already? I'll probably just treat myself to a box of chocolates, some sexy underwear, and a good fap.

You know what? My GF will do that randomly not on some crappy day that I should expect it to happen.
(I even got to pick last time)

As for spending time together, you look forward to that day just so you can?
Really, honestly?

Lucky I found a girl that also agrees with me that if you buy me something on valentines day, it's an insult. Don't go buying me things and try to be nice when the rest of the world is as fakely doing so.

Jesus christ, lay off the guy. There's nothing saying he doesn't also get it many other days, he's just saying they get to spend some quality time on that day, not that they dont get to many other days also.

Seems like you're trying to prove you have a better relationship somehow, otherwise there's no need to parade how 'lucky' you are, yes yes very good you've got a gf that has the opinion as you on valentines, clearly he does too.

One upmanship has gotten rife here.

Last valentines day my work colleagues got me a card because they felt sorry for me as I was the only singleton. It didn't exactly make me feel better :(

This year I'd really like to just go on a date, but as its only 6 weeks away or something and I've not met anyone nice, I can't see it happening. Ah well...

I wouldn't mind spending time with someone on the day - even just a meal or a film but I don't think it'll happen, unless this girl I like has a change of heart and actually gets back to me :p grrrr

Good god we only just had x-mas last thing i need to think about is spending more money on girlfreind.

"Get it many other days" - What?

No I'm not, you're reading into it too much and over reacting.
The purpose of me saying what I did was to show you how I don't like valentines day and gave some reasons why.

If having a girlfriend that doesn't like valentines day is "proving I'm better" then I don't know...what's wrong.
You know sometimes rather than speculate and guess I back up my statements by real life situations, like I did. Because I know if I left some piece of info out some arrogant twot would speak up and say "Jee I bet your GF loves you on Vals day".

I certainly am not trying to prove I'm better and it annoys me that you think I insinuated it. I don't even see how it's better, according to you it is, it seems.
Now then, how about that?

Nah not really a fan, I dont need pressure to tell the misses that I love her, or how I feel, just another hollow american holiday like father's and mother's day
