Driving down the motorway we saw a car in the middle lane which was slowly drifting from side to side. We thought they had been drinking!. We decided to overtake in the fast lane making sure they didn't come to close to us.

We went into the middle lane afterwards and they decided to speed up. They overtook us on the left hand side , i looked over and they were laughing while the driver was doing the motion of go faster!.

They dived in front of us too quick and the back end went , they swirved one way then another till finally they went off the motorway and smashing into the barrier head on. Bits went everywhere , some hitting our windscreen... Our female driver put the breaks on , pumping as she did we avoided any collision.

I told our driver to pull over to the hard shoulder , as no cars where coming we both got out and rushed to help the two people. I got the guy out slowly , making sure he was not suffering any neck injuries and the female got out also. The guy was in shock but the female also in shock was in tears.

My mate phoned the police/ambulance while i directed any traffic coming our way away from the scene of the accident. Too many people going to fast , i'm sure if i was not there directing traffic another accident would've happened.

Police arrived so did the ambulance , we gave our statement and the police thanked us for helping with the traffic , phoning and making sure the people in the car are safe.

Sorry for any spelling mistakes i've just got in and im knackered , night!

Well i said " I'm going to f.... kill em " , the driver and passenger said calm down calm down lol. I think my temper went down ok but damn driving like that you can see why :(

Any indication of a drink on the drivers breath?

Didn't smell anything when i spoke to the guy or the female , the coppers did say to the ambulance services "any sign of drink". He replied "no but we have only just got here" and the reply back was "ok we will doing a breath test shortly". I'd be supprised if they found nothing as they had been on the night out and she was drifting on the road

You should be pushing for a dangerous driving charge tbh. It could have been your ass on the tarmac chap.

No way I'd have stopped for that given the behaviour leading up to it. Even if I had stopped, no way would I run across a motorway.

I had my fingers burnt a few years ago stopping at an accident where a guy had crashed into a pedestrian island on an A road. I didn't see him crash, but there was a nice head sized crater on the windscreen. I stopped and he was well out of it, but by the time the police and ambulance arrived he accused me of causing the accident, assualting him and trying to steal his wallet! I was taken to the Police station and interviewed and had to give a statement. As it turned out, a blood test showed he was off his head on a cocktail of drugs.

I'm very careful about what I stop for now. I did help a lady who hit the central reservation on the M6 in an MX-5 last winter as she was standing in a state of total panic in the middle of the carriageways. I stopped about 50 yards away and shouted to her to get in the back seat which she was very grateful for.

if i see anyone weaving around in the middle lane at night, i either gun it so they cant keep up (wrong i know) or just hang back and "wait".

sometimes i wish i was a copper

To the comments, I wouldn't stop, have you never been in a car with your mate being a bit of an arse? Fair enough, that is total idiocy. But of course you would have stopped you could never live with yourself, or I couldn't anyway.
