I'm sure this will get shot down in flames of mockery, but i'm going to ask anyway!

Regarding the film:
In the graveyard, when their wands connected, Harry's parents appear in a ghostly form along with Cedric and i think someone else. They're all like "you can do it son, we love you and you're not alone!" and then they swamp MouldyVort to give harry time to escape.

Afterwards, Dumbledore says "No spell can awaken the dead Harry..." but what does he mean by that? I've since watched Order of the Phoenix, but it doesn't appear to be explained, so i assume it's something that's explained in the books but not carried over into the films?

How were his parents there if they wern't woken from the dead? Obviosly then it was just Harry's imagination, but i swear the same thing happens again in Order of the Phoenix with Sirius Black. Is it an effect of the spell or just Harry's dreaming up powerful things he loves in order to protect himself from Voldemort?

:( it's not very well explain in the film. can someone help out?

They're not alive, they're technically ghosts:

Wiki said:
Voldemort challenges Harry to a duel, and punishes Harry with the Cruciatus Curse. Harry tries to disarm Voldemort with the Expelliarmus spell, at exactly the same time as Voldemort uses the deadly Avada Kedavra curse. The two curses meet and interlock, causing an effect called Priori Incantatem to take place. This bond between the wands causes the spirits of Voldemort's most recent murdered victims, including Cedric Diggory, Bertha Jorkins, James and Lily Potter, and even the Muggle Frank Bryce, to spill out from his wand. The spirit victims provide protection to Harry, allowing him to escape with Diggory's body and leaving Voldemort behind in a raging anger.

I'm going to mock you... for not reading the book. ;)

Seriously, the books are infinitely better than the films, if only because they aren't mauled by the vast majority of the film cast.

And they 'explain' a lot more than the films. But then, they aren't the first books to be castrated by celluloid.

No indeed. I've never even seen Harry Potter before, but spontaneous lunchtime spending gave me all 5 films which i've watched over the weekend.

I like them, so perhaps i will read the books. Thing is i'm not taking the films too seriously so it doesn't matter too much if bits are missing.

Books are always better than the films, though. That's a fact i'm afraid :( I think 90% of the problem is that you can spend days reading a book, but you've only got 2 hours watch the film :/

People can say what they want about the books, in my opinion they are great (and I'm a 23 year old guy, not a 12 year old girl, which most people think are the target audience). The films are good too, but the books are much much better.

I finished the last one a few days ago and I think that the books are so so so so so much better than the films it's not even funny. Daniel Radcliffe is beyond atrocious and makes the films nigh on unwatchable for me... And I enjoy Steven Seagal movies.

+1, better off reading the books than watching the films simply because no film can explain fully what happens in the books (too complicated too explain, I had to read the books twice to understand what was going on & I'm in my 40's!)

Currently reading Deathly Hallows for the 3rd time. If you've never read the books you might find the first 2 or maybe 3 a bit more childish (but then thats because the characters are children) but from book 4 and up they are great reading and at times very funny.

The one thing that really gets to me with the films is that they portay Harry's parents as a couple in their mid 30's, but I'm pretty sure that when they died they were about 21 or something

theres pictures of daniel radcliffe naked on google!

Hope this isn't against the rules. :p

Hmm.. I'm not sure... I've seen a lot of Photoshops in my time, but that image looks unedited to my trained eye.

it was on the charlotte church show (ok am i just making myself out to be a hugely camp man?) a while back. They are real. From when he had to do a theatre production

A website showed a picture of some guy with an identical willy, it was definitely shopped. :p (original image was also in color)

Wish I never stumbled upon the link though. :(

Sorry that I don't have anything useful to add.
