Whats UT3 like these days?

Now that i have turned off DepthOfField, Fog & blur & have played a few maps the difference is huge & it just shows how ridiculously overboard in UT3 & games using the UnReal engine have been implementing effects.
GOW is not as bad with the DOF & Blur but its still to much.
Only DMC4 has gotten a good balance out of the games i have played using the UnReal engine.

Devs really need to put more option in the menu to tame the effects.

What diffo does it make? comparison shots?

its honestly like night and day mate, u see so much more turning it all off without sacrificing real gfx. Havent got any screenies but its a simple case of goin into the utengine.ini and changing a few lines to =false if u wanted to test it out.

I thought UT3 was ok when it first came out, but I only play agaisn't bots.

Sadly though I still think UT99 is the better game, at least I have more fun with it anyway.

Not a huge fan of the art style in UT3 partly due to the Unreal 3 engine which has that "console" feel to it. ¬¬
 
FogVolumes=False
DepthOffield is in the menu under video advanced World Detail settings setting it to 1 turns it off but apply will overwrite FogVolumes, to true again but will disable bloom.

give it a couple of hours, u will crash :)

i know there was a beta driver that came out that allowed u to disable to x-ram, not sure if the latest driver includes this opition. But to me this isnt really a proper fix as they have had over a year now to get this issue sorted.

Anyhow disabling x-ram supposedly works, i havent got round to trying it yet and not sure if i cba to keep setting it on/off depending on what game im playing

Hours lol I'm not as hardcore UT3 as you......yet ;)

But it normally crashed within 1-2 rounds before.
 
Does everyone only play VCTF and Warfare then? I seem to suck at those game modes and even in the vehicles cant kill people most of the time they still kill me :\

VCTF and Warfare takes allot of getting used to the vehicles in UT3, but im getting there.

I'm a weird player, I find that the time I have played UT for people have played less than me and are now pro, I just cant seem to learn.

I know I find UT3 D/M and that quite fun, some levels I do ok, sometimes I have a good run and can come in top 3 or 4, sometimes I am near the bottom.

I want to try VCTF and that, I don't understand the vehicles though, obviously the only way to get high scores is to use the vehicles, I'm not keen on em though, only time I want to use vehicles is racing :p
