SONY KDL40V3000U can't detect my PS3 in the HDMI list

I am trying to register my PS3 HDMI connection with my SONY TV in the HDMI-SET UP menu. The PS3 displays fine, but my tv just won't list it as an HDMI device.

Any know what to do?

There is nothing you can do about it unfortunately.

I get the same, my Sony 40W4000 won't list my ps3/xbox360/SkyHD after doing the search in the hdmi menu.

Not many devices out there seem to support it.

All its good for anyhow is auto switching like you get with scart leads so when you turn on the ps3 etc the tv automatically flicks to the right input.

how is the 40V4000 for gaming?? sorry to hijack interested in the tv as ive seen it for £550 and it has pretty favourable reviews with hd content but how does it hold up with games (ie fps)

I love it. Games look amazing in 1080p. Can't go wrong at that price. I bought it fro £600.
