Hi fokes,

This is my first proper post in Photography (I'm usually stuck in motors) just picked up a 450D with the 18-55 IS lens (which has been used for all these shots) splashed out on a 70-200 L F4 / Battery Grip and 50mm 1.8 Prime also but not got any real shots from those yet.

Anyways this is my second DSLR after a few years break, i really like the below shots, C&C welcome :)

Finished splurging money on the Passat then? ;)

Lovely shots Mark, think no 1 is my favourite closely followed by no 3.

That first one is excellent!

Shame it doesn't have a bit more space below the reflections at the bottom, and maybe a bit more space to the left too, but sometimes you can't have everything.

I've spent many hours on those 'steamers', but looks like you had a nice day for it!

wow nice, i have the same lens with my 1000D, nice to see what its capable off! :)

got the 50 1.8 on the way too :)

Cheers for the comments guys :)

I really like the first shot going to get a large print made once i've finished playing with the levels etc, i took loads of shots during my weeks stay at christmas and i'm only just getting round to sorting them out, weather was fantastic not a drop of rain all week, we had these amazing frosts instead, made for some great photos!

P.S. Not finished wasting money yet John, its funny watching peoples faces when something the size of a church pulls away much quicker than they expect :p

Msn - Facebook :p, interesting that your initial comment on these came out very quickly (as expected) i really want to go back on a good day and shoot with the full shadow!

How did the snow shots go?

was all melting away really. its really bright n sunny and quite warm in congleton. I went up the railway lines and ended up at 10 arches. Got a couple of good uns but to be honest I was having more fun just walking.

Fancy doing another late night motorway shot with a few more ideas I have. Thats always fun in evenings.

You know my thoughts on your pictures anyway so I wont go on n on just to say they are all great.

Lovely! The Lake district is really gorgeous at this time of year when it's fairly quiet and there are some colours that arnt green - which you have captured really well in the second shot. :)

Was a bright sunny day, all handheld with IS still on, correct aperture and a slight sharpen in Photoshop but it didn't really need it tbh but i usually sharpen most of my photos slightly anyways. First image was taken on a Pier, Second on the beach and the Third on the steamer itself so all solid platforms no tripod needed :)

No: 1 is a show stopper mate... very nice capture indeed.

... looking forward to seeing some more work from you
