gtx295 or gtx280/5 in sli

im gonna be doing a new build in the coming weeks would a single gtx295 be better then 2 gtx 280/5 in sli? res im using is 24" 1920x1200

2 gtx 280s would be plenty, buy them now while they're cheap and instock, save yourse;f a couple of bucks

280/285 sli will be better than 295 as the 295 is basically just SLI 260

erm around 800watt, probably less actually, but a decent 800 watt to be safe. Also, it won't come down more in price, unless you buy second hand. Once these are sold out, there will be no more, and these will be sold out very fast.

285 is basically the 280, just overclocked, so 280 SLI will be so much better.

For two 280s I would personally want a quality brand name 750w PSU. You might never actually use that much, but having the overhead can't hurt, and also the more powerful/expensive PSUs can sustain the cards with less struggle.

2x280's should beat a 295... I have a 295 arriving this week though so we shall see.

the 295 is a mix between 280 specs and 260 specs, it has the memory and memory speed of the 260, but the shaders of the 280

Only problem for SLi 280s over a 295 is that you would need a SLi board.

i will be buying a new 280gtx bfg...however i dont hink i will have any trouble with psu as i have 1300w lol
