I don't think the eyes should be, otherwise the gun would be out of focus, and just a blur on her face

Unless you somehow got both in focus, but then the picture would just seem a bit flat, and lack the impact the DoF has on the OP's

You'd have to take the shot with everything IN focus and then blur everything you didn't want back OUT of focus to do that.

Composition I like, but you should've removed her jewellery. Ring and necklace are getting on my nerves.

I'd like to see a version where her finger tips are sharp, too. Not sure if it'd work, but you don't know!

Yeah, it's a fun image. I'd perhaps agree with a comment further up that I'd prefer it if the fingers were a bit sharper, but it's swings and roundabouts.

yeah nice pic, i like it. i think the focus and DOF is spot on, having more in focus would take away the impact of the picture.

Thanks for comments guys I also think that the jewellery would look better removed but I'm still taking a crash course with CS4.

This was shot with my new Nikon 50mm f1.4G AF-S and must say it's a very Sharpe lens.
