Any non league fans here?

I check FC United's scores. btw did you hear 606 the other day about "fans" and "supporters" There's a big difference apparently. One is someone who buys a shirt and the other is someone who goes to games.

I suppose I used to be a fan of Man United after being brought up with a lot of United fans in the family (I live near Manchester) but now I go and watch Bury I'd rather give a club some money and watch them in person. I get a better feeling from it which is what you should get as a supporter.

I used to watch my local non-league club (Enfield FC) quite regularly when I was a teenager.

Sadly, they had a corrupt owner who sold their ground to a development company and that left them homeless. They eventually folded as they had nowhere to play.

Things could have been so different as well. One season, they finished second in the Ryman Premier League on goal difference (by one goal!). Finishing first would have seen them promoted to the Conference.

I was also brought up with Man United by when I was old enough to understand I started supporting the old Wimbledon FC and then onto AFC for obvious reasons.

AFC Wimbledon have played FC United a couple of times. And don't FC United play at Burys ground. Never been there just heard it somewhere.

Shame really. Some people just care about money.

Old Wimbledon sold there stadium too. Now it's a load of flats. The famous Greyhound stadium near by might be going too. :(

I grew up supporting Arsenal, it was either them, Tottenham or a few glory hunting Man UTD fans at school. Our local side is Ashford Town which is a good few leagues lower than the PL and nearest league side is Gillingham who I both occasionally keep an eye out for.

Yeah they pay quite a few quid for it. FC United want their own stadium within a few yeards. Ironically FC United get better attendances than Bury well used to United's have dipped a little this season. tbh their website is brilliant with highlights interviews etc. The fan support behing the club is fantastic.

For me living in Belmont, Durham I had the choice of supporting

Durham FC

Currently in the Unibond Northern Premier League Division One North

They currently play just down the road from my parents house in Belmont, that said they didn't play there when I grew up so I didn't get taken to the games

So it was a choice between Newcastle, Sunderland as I'm according to the signpost exactely the same distance from each. Obviously my family is Newcastle and was brought up to be.Oh would like to support Hartlepool but a little too much travelling

My second team is Grimbsy Town , been to a few games with the GF's dad etc, if their current form continue's they will drop from League 2

I was a non league fan until May!

Still follow Forest Green's results as they're my local team and I live next door to a couple of their players. In a way it was handy when we were in the conference (BSP) as I only had to travel 10 minutes to watch Exeter playing at FGR - that's the only thing about the conference that I miss though to be honest.

You're missing the bit how the fans ditched the club and formed their own club, Enfield Town FC. They were one of the first fan run clubs in the country and were a great help to AFC Wimbledon when they started up.

Most local side to me (20minute drive away) is forest green rovers, tend to pay attention to their results but not really THAT interested

Keep an eye out on Bradford Park Avenue, and Morecambe when they were none league.

Hats off to all none league supporters, certainly takes more dedication than supporting your 'local' glory team. ;)

I go to the occasional Wrexham game, went as Santa to the last game before xmas and got on the website and local paper :D

Still brings a tear to my eye paying £17 for non-league football. Away at Wigan only cost me £20!
