Given the spec of my rig and that I game at 1680 x 1050 would I get a decent performance boost over my current 8800 GTS 512 Mb.

Im all for crazy updates, up to you mate, if you could get 230 for each card then the upgrade wouldnt cost you that much.....

Depends what you could sell for though..

Overall I dont think you would see a massive improvement.
 
Can any owners comment on expected noise levels?

I currently have an original reference 8800GT (Small fan), which can get quite loud. Rivatuner helps though.

The cooling solution on the GTX looks better. Is it very noisy?

You know it makes sense ;). Alsmost certainly will get dispatched for delivery tomorrow. Ordered mine yesterday later than you and it's just arrived.
 
Leadteks now gone. Interested to see if the Gainwards now shift as the next cheapest, especially once the BFGs also disappear.
