My Wife's laptop has a very annoying problem. Every time it boots up into Vista , Search Results opens up too. If you click it off, it keeps coming back and the only way to get rid of it is by CTRL ALT DEL and then click End task.....Until the next time it boots up.

I've run 2 Antivirus programs, Ad-Aware, Spybot. But I can't get rid....any ideas ???

This is what I'm getting:

I've checked startup in msconfig and I can't find anything

I wonder also, you may have a shortcut in your "startup" folder.

"C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup"

Have a look in there. :)

I think this is t he culprit, but I can't delete it even with User Account Control switched off. It does'nt appear in start up items

C:\Windows\System32\SearchProtocolHost.exe
