Let Kwik Fit recharge your Air Con while-u-wait for only £25.00.

Kwik Fit now offers a complete air conditioning recharge service available at all centres across the UK. Operated on a drive-in basis there is usually no need for an appointment. Within an hour the whole recharge process is completed. The process can also include a system de-bug to clear bacterial build up from within the system, which will remove any unpleasant odours.

If we cannot improve the coolest vent temperature from your car by more than 10% when measured in degrees Celsius - then you pay nothing at all.

I had this done once before getting rid of a car and it worked great, was ultra cold when done.

For £25 its got to be better than nothing. Im going to book it in and get it done.

I got my Mondy recharged up 3 or 4 years ago in Dudley for £55, so it doesnt cost a fortune to get done properly.I cant see it being much more to get done nowadays.

Most garages, round here anyway, will test the seals 1st to see if there are any leaks,if its ok they then fill it up.They also check the temperature.

had mine done there and was pretty impressed. Waited about 15mins while the leaked tested then left the car with them while i went up town.

Came back an hour later handed over £25 and all done

well they have to because its illegal to top up/re gas a leaking system.

exactly my thoughts. Who is thinking about air con in this weather.

probably less than there should be, considering AC is probably its most useful in the winter. Misted windows cleared in seconds and constant dehumidification means you won't get ice on the inside.

ME! First car i've had with fully working air-con and i've got used to being able to see out of the screen within 5 seconds :D

Just want some climate control too now, bloody xud engine carries a bathtub full of water in the cooling circuit and takes about 10 minutes to give me any warm air inside in this weather :(

edit ^^^^^ great minds :D

Indeed, I haven't turned mine off since...forever. I may get it done for £25 now just so come the summer it will be nice and cool though. I remember some people saying they had it done at Kwik-Fit when it was £45 and it made a noticable difference.

Mine is going in tomorrow :)

However they still have the £45 posters up, it's only £25 if you spend £50. I think i'll take a website print out with me :D

This is provided it doesn't leak of course.

Kwik Fit use bog standard self contained aircon service units. These drain the system, check for leaks, pull a vacuum through the system for 20 minutes to remove any moisture and recharge with the correct amount of refrigerant and oil. There is little scope for getting it wrong, and for £25 it is infinitely better than using a recharge can from Halfords or whoever. They give you a printout showing how much gas and oil was in at the start, if any leaks were found, how long the system was vacuumed for and how much gas and oil went back in.

I got my Mum's old car done - it was £25 if you were having an MOT there. Came out icy cold as it was 50% down on gas.

What they won't do is fix any problems with individual components. I would only advise using them if your AC is working but isn't as cold as it could be. If you've got other problems use an aircon specialist.

One thing though - A/C compressors will not kick in below 4 degrees centrigrade, so I don't know how they're going to prove the temperature drop unless they use a heater or something.
