1000bhp per ton holy grail.

SSC Ultimate Aero TT weighs 1250kg (curb weight) and generates 1183BHP so almost there.....

I'm sure it wouldn't be hard for it to be pushed over that threshold...

so it seems there are plenty of cars out there getting close.. and given the effect of rider on bike which I always forget, the bike looks a lot less impressive.

edit: with 80kg driver I rekon thats about 890bhp per ton at crank, but my maths suck ...it surpasses most bikes easily though.

I really need everyone to stop with the superbike threads lol. In the last 3 days I've priced up leathers, a 600 gsx-r, DAS, rough insurance prices and started doing online theory practice. I think I'm going to end up with a bike. Something just feels really right about it.

Was going to mention most modern litre sports bikes are the poor mans option for this ;) Good luck with your test, you won't regret it. Once you settle in to it you should defenitely look into a few track days if you really want smiles per miles :)

Is it just me that seems to think this is an e-peen thread gone wrong?

my epeen is so large I have to sit 5 meters from my desk...

plus I think it's common knowledge bikes have good power to weight, was wondering if any cars are up near them... seems some are beyond.

the only gone wrong bit is I seem to only have about 775bhp per ton with rider in calcs :(

whats power to weight of your motor ? ;)

just do it... if you like the rush of acceleration and speed and picking lines through your fave corners you'll love every second of being on a bike. (except when it's raining)

i don't know what to say really... it's not erm, very much :)

but it's not size that counts it's how you use it.. I've been left for dead in the twisties by a old shape mini before, was a humbling experience lol

No, but then I wouldn't expect a restricted 17 year old VFR400 to be pushing your 'holy grail' of power to weight ratios.

which VFR do you have ?, I had the old NC24... was a cracking bike. Had it painted up in full rothmans racing livery.

A while back A chap built a Dax Rush MC with a supercharged 550bhp busa lump that came in at around 500kg.
I'll see if I can dig something out on it.

Give into your gayness ;)

only car i know of with a figure close to 100bhp/ton is the caparo T1 which has 610bhp and weighs 672kg so 922bhp/ton.nothing else comes close.

the tvr cerbera speed 12 was quoted as being 917bhp/ton but that was never officially sold so doesnt count.

easiest way to get 1000bhp per ton would be buy an ultima gtr720(720bhp/980kg) and strap a largish supercharger on it.job done easily
