I have to share this as its one of the funniest and stupiest things I have witnessed for ages.

I went into my local town yesterday and there was a council truck with a couple of workers spreading road salt over the pavements due to the cold weather. Fair enough, needs doing.
I then was sitting in the barbers getting the barnet cut and I could hear a loud machine approaching. It was a street cleaning machine and the guy was cleaning the pavement which meant his machine was sucking up all the salt and secondly leaving the pavement pretty wet that then iced over by the time I left leaving about 500m of pavement a death trap for anyone walking along:rolleyes:

Are some people really that thick??

No, i'm sure they have average IQs. They are just "doing their job" to the "best of their ability"

Same can be said regarding war crimes, crimes against humanity, collective/institutional incompetence... etc etc....

Is pretty silly, but most authorities will have different responsiblitys.

Here for example the County Council are responsible for gritting and the District Council for cleaning the streets. For the life of me I cannot get the County Council to talk to us on simple issues such as grass cutting and where they are going to be so they create a mess which we have to clear up, no hope of them contacting us over laying salt.

I work for the local council and find this thread offensive, RTM

What exactly do you find offensive? That your colleagues have no idea what they are doing?

EDIT: And you better be on a lunchbreak - if you are surfing during working hours we're ALL reporting you. What a waste of tax payers money.

What exactly do you find offensive? I have not said ALL council workers are stupid, merely this one I encountered yesterday. Well and his boss who sent him out with a machine that dumps water over the paths when we have severe weather warnings for freezing temperatures.

Yeah, tax payers money lost to council employees surfing the net is really worth moaning about.

Newsflash: Your tax contributions are mandatory, not optional. It's not, nor was it ever your money in the first place ;)

You, however, are not irreplaceable, so get back to work.
