As the title says.

For someone who doesn't want to get his hands dirty (and probably wet) by installing his own, what case with pre-installed water cooling do you think I should get?/performs the best?

Max budget £500

If that budget is just for the cooling I'd go for a custom system, single loop with a 120.3/360 or dual loop with a pair of 120.2/240's if it'll fit in.

What are you talking about? That's a ridiculous thing to say.

No it's not. Up to £500 for a crappy case with a pre-installed kit that is little better than a £20 air cooler is ridiculous. If he's going to spend that sort of money then it should be done properly with custom components. That sort of money will buy a high end case and high end custom components that will cool cpu, gpu and motherboard. It's not exactly hard to put together and doing it himself will give him more satisfaction. Plus he will understand ho it all works.

What you are both effectively saying is that there is no point to, and nobody should have/deserves water cooling unless it is a custom job and is done personally = ridiculous.

No we are not. Pre-installed watercooling is expensive considering that the components used are no better than what you can achieve with a £20 air cooler. £500 for a pre-installed setup=ridiculous!! You can get a really good case and high end watercooling components that actually make a big difference to your cooling for less.

Pre-Installed water is no better and often worse than high end air cooling... water cooling to a degree is a hobby its something you have to take time with and learn and also maintain... as such spending a load of £ on something that will probably not be as good as a high end air setup but cost a load more seems pointless...

Pasty is not saying that you need to be a professional or an expert we all have to start somewhere... but I do believe its in everyones best interest to give honest advice... at the end of the day its the OP's money if you want to spend it on a pre built water setup thats your decision... all pasty is saying is that it would be much more cost effective to go high end air... or if you want to go water... go custom, do some research and actually get the pleasure from building it yourself... trust me it is a lot of fun :)

It's true what people are trying to say.
You would be wasting your money with a pre-installed one as you will be having greater expectations of it than it can deliver and will be left disappointed.

Yup, have to agree. I looked at a presold system and went custom in the end and cost me more than I would have expected, but it works a treat and I have never looked back. For the record I used a 120.3 Radiator with three fans, EK Supreme CPU block, EK Full cover for a 4870, XSPC bay reservoir and Swiftech Laing D5 Vario MCP655 12V DC Pump and 2 bottles of Feser.

So, do I get an apology?

Actually, I tell you what. Give me the £500 and I'll do you a great setup. Just don't expect any post-sales support.

Don't you have to clean out watercooling systems too as they fill up with gunk? i researched this option before putting my system together, like you i did not want something to complicated or to make a mess of things, and as such i steered clear of a watercooler setup in the end.

It's not just that the pre built stuff was not well rated by people on the forum, the thought of ongoing maintenance put me off too, it's not just a case of fill it up and forget about it

No you don't have to clean them out. I built my water cooling setup 3-3.5 years ago using the best components i could afford. It cost me around £200 back then and i have'nt replaced a single component despite several upgrade from AMD socket 754, then 939, on to Intel 775, initially with a [email protected], then a [email protected], a short lived E8500 C0 @4.2Ghz, [email protected] and now my E0 E8500 @4.5Ghz. The same cpu block has been used throughout. GPU wise i have gone from a SLI'd 7800gt's to a single 8800gts 320mb to a 8800gt 512mb and now my 4870. The only times i have partially drained the loop is when i stupidly got a full cover block for the GTS and it replaced the two blocks from the SLI setup. It was partially drained down again to remove the full cover block and fit one of the original blocks for the 8800gt. Same with the motherboard. I have used the same NB block throughout my upgrades. I have never stripped it down for cleaning. Never needed to. It cools just as well today as it did when i set it all up. I have distilled water in my loop with a small bottle of Zerex added to it. Occasionaly i have to top it up but that's the limit of maintenance needed for my setup.

My setup consist's of the following:-

Aquaextreme 50z pump.
Aquaextreme MP-05 Pro limited edition cpu block.
Aquaextreme MP-01 Gpu block.
XSPC Delta NB block.
XSPC 250mm passive res.
Alphacool Nexxxos Extreme lll rad (window mounted :D).
Masterkleer 7/16" tubing.
2x 6feet lengths of 15mm copper pipe.
3x Xinruillian 0.4a 120mm fans.
All powered by a 150w AT switching psu.
