Gaming & VoIP over cell phone internet?

UK doesn't have Verizon sadly.

However, VOIP over HSDPA (A get nearly 1Mb on good day) is perfectly fine quality wise - just a little "satellite delay" - which was no worse than when I used it on the hotel wireless in Costa Rica last year.

Gaming - I wouldn't even bother. The average latency is about 300-400 ms and spikes much higher.

:( Cell Networks use satellite also, thanks for that info. That is prob. good anyway, we are gonna go around the country & stay at a few towns to see where we wont to move. I don't need to be playing games then anyway.

Games do work, I know of people using vodafone mobile broadband to play WoW. What it wont work for is fast paced FPS games. Stuff that's not as fast paced like online poker, RTSs, scrabble whatever will be fine.

So will Darkfall onlinee work it will be a MMORPG with a FPS system?

The technology can respond but the delay in getting from the modem onto the internet and from there to your chosen server means that what you're seeing is up to half a second behind what's actually going on.

Games have code to correct this but fast paced games it's not designed to cope with quite that big a delay.
