He's asking people to fix his torrent issue, not suggest how to send 800mb most efficiently.

The torrent issue is probably one or both of your ISPs doing somthing nasty with rate limiting, or your routers can't handle the number of connections/packets that Torrenting creates.

Easiest way to wliminate ports is set yourself to be DMZ on your router for the duration of the transfer.

True but not everyone knows how to do that or what ports to open. Hence why i said easiest way not safest way.

Yes, we're both relatively au fait with the Internet, just never created a torrent before!

this is the first question that came into my mind when I read the OP.

Speed drops like that are classic behaviour of ports not being forwarded correctly.

just rar it and split up and stick it on mega upload, will be just as quick, also you can pasword it, other advatage no messing with router setting or signing up to newsgroups
