Golf R32 is approaching affordable..

the ed30 is much the same as r32, apart from the v6 and 4wd, it maybe a tad slower due to weight of 4wd, but launch and cornering will obvious be better.,..

And my nextdoor neighbour looks like Moira Stuart except she isn't black and doesn't have an afro.

What about a 147 GTA - quicker than all of them.

Its more expensive since, unlike everything else in this thread, it isn't a chav car.

Serious about what? Suggesting a 147 - or the contention that everything in this thread is a chav car or at best the kind of car a stupid person with a little bit more money buys, eg S3 (rip off).

Explain why the 147 in detail why it is better than an R32.

Explain why an R32 is chav, along with a Seat Leon Cupra R and a Focus ST.

Explain why the R32 is a ripoff of the S3.

Go!

You partly misunderstood me.

First, I did not necessarily imply the 147 was better, I just said it was faster. However, I do think it is a great looking car and there are less of them around.

I think the R32, Cupra are the chaviest because, well, they are. The Focus ST is of course a superb car, but its terribly boring to look at, which is somewhat the problem with all the sorts of cars on this thread.

I did not say the r32 was a ripoff of the s3, I said the s3 was a ripoff; ie, expensive for what it is (as most audis are).

I will never understand why people buy these types of cars. If you want speed and cheap, get an older MR2 - if you want a nice drive and don't fear being called a women (but have a fantastically enjoyable drive) select somerthing like an MX5.

Better yet, get a Supra.

I used to own one and miss it everyday.

Interestingly, my insurance only cost £1000 from Elephant. Yet my car right before it was a Renault Clio, which cost £650!

And yes it was even a Turbo! (UK though)

But seriously, they are such great value cars and go like the wind. Really nice examples can be had within your budget.

Do you honestly expect us to beleive that?

Because of my age?

At the time, insurance on an Suburu, or an Evo was £2800 - totally unexplainable.

What if you want speed and a nice car? You seemed to have missed that out.

Cheap + fast = no thanks
Nice drive + don't mind being called a woman = no thanks
Nice drive + speed = yes please

The last one covers some of the cars you're ripping in to.

A point well made.:(
