Hey all,

Just wanted to ask really... "Considering" doing something different with my hair, and had a few people suggest hair dye... Now I have quite dark hair and do not want to bleach it as I know this damages hair, and its taken me a year and a half to grow it to a good length...

So other than going black is there any way to naturally lighten hair/force hair dyes to work?

Thanks,
Jcb33.

But I don't need to grow any more hair.... just dye it.... Also my beard is staying brown :D

Jcb33...

Just bleach it, it only messes it up if you over do it. People whos hair is falling out is a result of bleaching it every 6 weeks. I've bleached mine before and it's perfectly healthy.

yeah, and dont colour it too soon after you bleach it otherwise the colour fades very rapidly. Get it professionally done at first, at least then you can witness how its done before you ruin yourself at home.

Honestly? No.

The only alternative to a peroxide/dye combo is the stuff that coats the hair. But that stuff is **** and best kept to those on hen nights and those ever-so-kerrazy "I'm mad, me!" types that like to unbridle their massive creativity every time there's a feeble national charity 'event'.

Bleaching hair isn't really needed any more. Most dyes will take your colour out anyway.

I have naturally black hair. I went to get my hair dyed red at a hairdressers. Had it done 3 times in 2 days but they just couldn't get it red. Went and bought some Schwarzkopf Live Hair Colour and it took perfectly. Now I have gone brown as I doubt I could get a job with red hair.

Bleach is only needed if you want blonde, white, or a stupidly vibrant hair colour. Otherwise stay away.

Take my advice. The gayest person on OcUK... who loves women.
