Team Fortress 2

Ace game, Ive had it since the early pre-order release on Steam but only recently started playing again, with the range of new unlocks the game has new life and I'm totally hooked again, I just love playing Heavy or Sniper. I usually haunt the GTFO all maps servers! Goldrush is by far my fave!

Just finished a couple of games on the OCUK server you can't beat uber charging a Pyro and just burning your way through a load of other players, the sheer panic of the other team is hysterical lol :D

Think i'll play on that server again :)

Whilst the skill gap isn't as wide as some games, there are still some incredibly good players out there. A smaller gap is good anyway as it means that even if you're an incredibly skilled player, odds are you'll lose if you can't play well as a team.

Truth! Been kicked from various dustbowl servers for ending point2 defence with stats like ~ 60 kills, 2 deaths .. i cheat, clearly!

I really couldn't get into it when I first played it because I was so used to play CSS. Didn't touch it for months after that. Then I decided to give it another go, and now I can't stop playing it.

Well worth it I'd say. The team behind it have a great sense of humour. As evident from their "Meet the..." videos and the things you see/hear in the game :)

What's great for me is it doesn't have such a steep learning curve as CSS.

There's room for all levels of player, and so many classes you're sure to find a one in which you can be a productive team member :p

All I can say is of all the games I own, TF2 is the one I play the most. Was having a great time as heavy last night on the OcUK server, the Orange Box was the best £20 I ever spent this year :D

I personally don't rate it as highly as others out there. I realise that visually it is one of the best looking and most unique out there. The characters are great in themselves and the artwork is very nice. The game is polished and runs amazingly well thanks to the source engine.

However, gameplay wise (for me) seems a tad too simplistic. On that basis i found myself having fun for short bursts at a time and then getting bored pretty quickly. Skill wise, I don't feel the gap is wide enough from the best players out there and the not so good players like there was with Team Fortress Classic on the HL 1 engine (never played the original Quake mod i think it was?)

Totally agree that the skill ceiling is low so I dont think it will hold up great over the years but nether the less a fun game for public play.

looks quite pretty but overall I find it rather boring and to slow.if you like hectic fast action cod4 is the only way to go.

valves commercial business strategy succeeded i guess! no offence to anybody if you enjoy this game, but it's an insult to team fortress classic :p

Our community has set up a vanilla TF2 server, unfortunately there seems to be a distinct lack of these. Join if you like. :D

Its not meant to be teamfortress classic or yet another id software styled rehash of something that had already reached its peak years ago. Tf2 is its own game and a good one at that, im glad valve can see past pandering to a small group of vocal diehards and see the larger picture.

THG have recently got a new server, just like the other it's vanilla with no annoyingly modified spawn or anything.

Hope to see you there ;)
