Crysis is clearly a visually stunning game and isn't badly coded, it was always designed to be hard. GTa4 wasn't, it is badly coded, it doesn't look anywhere near as good as its power usage suggests it does. The AI is hardly smart, the car crashes aren't particularly fantastic or different from previous games, while crashing through the windscreen is hilarious and fun its simply a if you are traveling above X speed, shoot him through the windscreen hardly the epitome of complexity.
For gta i'm never under heavy load on the 4870x2, its only at 45% load when its slow, the CPU, or more accurately, only one thread is HUGE, at a guess its the AI/physics or joined together and its simply not optimised and tracking far to many cars and things offscreen you can't see. In a tunnel my fps shoots up as the cpu usage drops down. Its a weird engine and it does some purely down to poor optimisation, maybe on purpose(my cynical mind says) so they aren't badgered to release the next one on PC. How does it use such massive textures while the console has far far far less gfx memory available to it and far less power.
