I find with most recipies that claim to serve x people that two of these people = I normal man appetite.

If one roast chicken can serve 4-6 then they are dwarves frankly. Two people or one hero can easily dispatch this.

I think 500g pasta = two people. Well last time it just about covered me and my mate (both of us are 6'5")

I do 150g a pasta for myself, as there will be veg and meat in there too, pefect amount. I'm only 5'11" and rather trim though.
 
I hope the OP wont have to cater for a team of huge appetites as it descends into an eating frenzy where it is the survival of the fittest :p
