Hi there I am choosing a new mboard and would like to know peoples experiences of the 2, I know they will be varied but is the striker 2 extreme or the EVGA the better board and are they both more stable than the original? Also would the bios on them need updating and would OCZs 1800mhz ddr3 SLI ready ram be a good choice? thanks guys.

Just a quick one aswell been on asus website and there are quite a few mboard updates, would i just install the latest one and that includes all the previous fixes or would i need to install all of them oldest first up to the newest?

Sorry for the delayed response guys i have a 6850 quad core extreme, what board would yous reccomend and if its the evga what advantages does it have? I was liking the idea of cooling my north and southbridge with the fusion setup on the striker.

Yes i have sli at the min and they are BFG 8800gtx Overclocked and watercooled. Core is650Mhz on Shader is 1500Mhz and Memory is 2000Mhz on each card.

And would it need any bios updates? are you using vista? and what ram do you use? thanks for your help mate. I was gonna go with the 790 version aswell.

i have problems now and again and my cpu and gpus are only 10 months old and spot on just wanna go forward as my existing board is only 800mhz max for the ram i want faster, also the full potential of the cpu isnt unvealed either. I have a ABIT IN9 32X-MAX.

Smirnoff see i wont be to use ddr2 with going for the 790i chipset. Thats why i want to go ddr3 and ill benefit with the faster ram and it will release my CPUs performance aswell.

dual channel ddr3 is dead now i7 is out - i would go with smirnoffs advice

you wont see much of an improvement with ddr3 tbh
