Hi guys,

I am planning on making some changes to my Leon Cupra. It has an inbuilt sat nav which i would like to take out and sell it and replace it with a different double din screen/sat nav. I also plan on taking out the 6 cd changer and sell that too.

I am thinking of getting a unit like this: http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/jvc-kwnx7000-p-7036.html?cadid=8kv04c54a8oa19oriso3s3vth0

Is there anything i need to safely remove the sat nav and cd changer such as removal keys?

What accessories will i need to fit the new double din unit, such as wiring adapters etc?

Any help will be appreciated as i haver never touched ICE before but would like to do these changes and wouldn't want to miss out anything!

Thanks :)

Don't you need to replace the whole dash if you change it out?

I don't think so? Why would i need to?

The current unit is:

I thought it would be a simple matter of taking it out and swapping with the new screen i intend to purchase?

if i was you i would head over to talk audio they are also part of caraudiodirect were i got all my ice from although still not installed most of it after 2 years ago buying it. But with regards to wiring adaptors etc i shouldnt think so i havent had to in my past two cars with my aftermarket headunit i was told to buy one for my first car but then took the headunit out and noticed all the wires were there that was needed etc. so i would check it first before spending £15 unecessarily. you will need to use a key to get your old unit out although sometimes if theres someone helping you you can improvise with something.

Ahh my mistake. It must be the older ones where you need to replace the whole dash because its all one piece.

What age is the car? I was thinking this would be needed:
