Windows 7 - Meeeeh!

What a silly topic:rolleyes:

Let’s all go to work on a horse and cart and take a dump out the window.

Whoa! Large straw man, reaching up way into the sky...

By all means come out of the woodwork and have your little rant... Or:-
1) Ignore the post you seems to having nothing to add to.
2) Actually just comment on the simple point at hand - I have no issue with a new version of Windows, but all this hype and eagerness to upgrade just for the sake of it seems a bit 'meeeeh' when in reality a lot of people who will upgrade from Vista (for example) to W7, will actually not see the slightless bit of difference in behaviour/functionality in the vaste majority of stuff they do...

Now I'm sorry if this hits your 'I'm eager to upgrade nerve', so by all means rant away again, but personally I'd just prefer if you and your straw man instead just go far far away...

EDIT: BTW your signature is 5 lines. Be careful as this can get you suspended and your sig wiped! Should only be max of 4!

Well I run XP at the mo and personally I'm really looking forward to Windows 7. I think the publics general opinion (rightly or wrongly) of Vista's 'meh'ness has hit Microsoft quite hard and has pointed them back into the right direction - simplifying and streamlining rather than over complicating.

IMO, Windows 7 will be Vista minus the annoying things = damned good OS. Personally, I can't wait.

It would seem that Windows 7, in terms of speed and overall performance is slightly better than Windows Vista. However, surely this should have been expected since Windows 7 is based around the same core as Windows Vista. Since Windows Vista changed so many things in the core of the operating system, I think it's unreasonable to think that Windows Vista would be so good as soon as it was released.

Windows Vista runs absolutely perfectly on my system. It's secure, reliable and fast, I personally couldn't be happier with it. So, if Windows 7 improves on these aspects then it will be most welcome.

Hi Billzz, what sort of things did you find annoying in Windows Vista out of interest? :)

Well for me there is absolutely no reason for me to go for Vista right now, XP does everything fine with no fuss, but I guess the jury is out on weather it's worth going to Windows 7 or not...

There has to be some big reason to make it worth the hassle...

I think the term is dumbing down and streamlining
