***OFFICAL*** Left 4 Dead Thread!

Stupid game kicked me out and someone nabbed my spot :(

On the group server as well!!!! Not that it's anything to do with the server but hey :p
 
There are no OCUK 'modded' servers - at least not in terms of basic game mechanics like this.

No you can 50 from certain very high spots such as the very top of the fire escape on the first no mercy level

steam community seems down for me can login to steam but cant play left4dead online

Same, happened when I got disconnected from the server, so I can't rejoin it.

EDIT : Won't let me play left4dead online says i need to login , so i guess i need to wait till its backup

No, you can't. There's a cvar called z_hunter_max_pounce_bonus_damage. It's always 25 unless you specifically change it using a server mod or having sv_cheats on.

I set it 100 on my server once, thinking it would just mean you could get over 25 if you jumped really far. I joined, took over playing as a survivor and a single hunter pounce killed me within about 10 seconds (admittedly from quite a high jump).

Any more than 25 is a bit silly, which is why the game always defaults to that as the maximum.

Aekeron, noticed the versus servers are now half alltalk, half not. Might be worth turning alltalk off and adding the sourcemods alltalk mod. It lets people bind a key to alltalk, so they can team chat and alltalk when they want to.

I played versus game on the alltalk server last night and it was nigh on impossible to co-ordinate anything, really spoiled the game :(

That's brilliant - I was hoping for a mod just like that. I'll get it soted today :)

Along with the other issues that have been mentioned.

And the co-op serer I left set to custom Vs maps :S
 
I thought that infhud thing was meant to remember your setting? I had to disable it at the start of every round.

All credit to the guy that wrote it but I can't stand it, position is wrong (I know why it's where it is) and it's just too intrusive.

Good game last night though.

It would be nice if you could position it where you wanted with a command at the end.
 
Servers updated:

sv_alltalk set to zero on ALL servers.
However, you can now bind an extra key if you want to be able to spam the other team (I know I do): alltalk bind

Maps verified/custom maps deleted.
Hopefully this will fix the issues some people were having on co-op/Church.
 
If anyone still has issues with crashing, please let me know. The only other cause I can think of is the infected hud plugin :/

(The servers are run in -fork mode so I imagine that the plugin will be loaded even for the coop servers. If we still have crashing issues I'll see if there's a way to disable the mod just for coop).

Yeah, I plan on adding it to the motd/join screen when I get some more time :)

You're correct about the way the servers are setup - will that cvar/command simply disable the HUD or the entire plugin?

I'm still pretty new to srcds admin ;) It's a shame Left4Dead isn't quake engine based really...
