Sorry if this has been asked etc. But when are the 285 due? How much will they be? Is it just worth picking up a cheap 280 if you have 250 max to spend.
Thanks.
Too late again with credit card; is this the end of te £230 280's?
Phew glad I picked one up then. As that was my max budget!
Due next Thursday the 15th, also definately worth picking up a cheap 280 now, as thats all the 285 is, just higher clocked and on a smaller 55nm process.
Thanks mate, just ordered one of the POV ones for 229.99 including which is a bargain tbf. Think its gone through etc as its now saying 2!![]()
The purchase price for us has shot up dramatically guys so the price on these is going one way and one way only.
Will keep the price on the 280s we have left as low as possible for as long as possible but I cannot work miracles unfortunately.
I was sitting on the floor next to my pc while running 3Dmark 06 and I heard a high pitched electronic noise coming from my pc during every introduction screen.
The noise happens as each intro screen fades in and again when it fades out but during the benchmark it is totally silent (other than the fan)...I've traced it to the GTX 280 and so far as I can tell it doesn't happen in anything else.
My PSU was bought last year, 750w Thermaltake and I've tried disconnecting any extra hard drives and things that don't need to be attached but the noise still happens so I think the PSU is fine.
Is this normal?![]()
Yeah its normal, its "capacitor whine" or some such thing. My 4870 does it sometimes, especially when using ATI Tool but when its on the floor and the speakers are blaring I don't notice it
