***OFFICAL*** Left 4 Dead Thread!

I'll upload it now but someone's on the co-op servers so I'll not restart them just yet.

I imagine it'll load on map change anyhow?

I'll also look at the plugin manager at some point too for the infected HUD plugin.

It'll just disable the HUD. To disable the plugin you need to installed the SM Plugin Manager and use one of its commands to actually unload the plugin for the Co-op servers.

Any chance of getting this on there at some point?

Sorry for all the requests :P

That's actually pretty clever, surprised it wasen't implemented originally.

See....I was playing the other day....and the infected team had a tank....said tank decided to knock the door down....So when the tank was dead....We decided to proceed through the door (As we haden't broken it down ourselves)..

Yay or nay? ;)

I can just imagine people on publics with this plugin enabled trying to bash the door down for all eternity :p hehehe

If the door has already been hit down by the tank then you'd be pretty stupid not to take the opportunity to be honest. That's more an occasion where the Infected team should shout at the Tank a lot :)

I've now temporarily disabled the infected HUD plugin. Would you mind testing it again sometime?

I don't have time to check running through it all on expert atm... (Though I guess I could enable cheats for the testing)

I imagine you'll have lagged out and then someone will have callvote kicked you - when that happens you're temp banned until the current campaign finishes (or after a certain amount of time, I'm not sure).

Seems to be a standard feature of Left4Dead - if someone can tell me how to disable it I'll of course implement it :)

It'll be enable on a full restart.

The great thing about the plugin manager is that it lets you load and unload plugins without needed a restart.

Sourcemod voting manager :)

I think you should already have it installed. It's the one that stops admins from being callvoted off.

I have it installed yes, though I seem to recall reading that the admin protection isn't working with the newer version of L4D *checks/updates if needed*.

Unless I've missed something, the vote manager won't stop people being auto-banned from a kick callvote (which I personally have no intention of disabling outright - no ability to callvote kick is an awful thing on a server). Please correct me if I'm wrong there though :)

Reading up on it, simply a config change I need to make. I'll do it now whilst waiting for VMware and ubuntu to download.

What a great way to spend a Friday night... :)

There are 2 different voting manager mods, AFAIK, one has an issue protecting admins and the other doesn't. That's the one I've got for sure.

Even if you disable in-game callvote, the sm_votekick command still works. I know it's not the best solution, but you can advertise that too.

Have got a pretty busy time at work for the next few weeks, but I'll look in to writing a script that changes the ban time for in-game callvote, or replaces it with a non-ban kick.

Yeah. In theory the config change I've made that utilises the "non-working" (at least for admin protecion) plugin should sort out the kickvote ban duration (set to zero for now...hopefully that means 'no ban' rather than 'infinite ban').

I've also installed the "working" vote manager that stops people spamming votes/etc, and configured it accordingly. This one should actually work with admin protection.

edit: Cheers for the help btw :)

No worries. Glad to help.

How are you running your servers btw? Using GNU Screen?

You'll have to excuse my linux noobery here I think :)

I've got a colo box running the server edition of ubuntu. I simply ssh into is and use a bash script to load the servers. They output to their own individual 'screens' but as to what that entails... er.. *shrug*. To be honest with you, the only reason I know my way around linux at all these days is due to renting dedis/colo in the past year.

A friend who part-owns the colo with my and uvmain on here is more up on linux so I only really know how to do stuff that I've needed to do and hence looked it up/done it.

The bash script I use is grabbed from some forum somewhere and modified for my own use... I'm at a level where I'm comfortable editing things but making stuff from scratch is a bit much just yet :)

Anyone interested in some versus games ocuk only sick of getting kicked by friends of ocuk friends sick of these dutch people vote kicking in ocuk games.

From now on I simply wont play unless everyone is [OcUk].

Anyway to all concerned you are now banned from my server and forum and blocked on steam cya.
