January Transfer Window Thread - rumours and signings here

He also hinted that he was in the market for a defensive midfielder to bolster his injury-hit squad.

"That is also a priority," he said.

Has Wenger finally seen the light .

That (Toure story) is finished. We will not sell any players this month."

Thats good too :).

Glen Johnson signs a new deal with Pompey. Sad we didn't sign him, but happy we haven’t parted with the quoted £9million.

Why? He's one of the worst defenders in the league. Im glad we didn't sign him for £9 let alone £9m and im pretty sure we weren't interested in him either.

I saw the interview on AOTV earlier, and he had a grin on his face when he was talking about Arshavin. Either this is a very good smoke screen or Arsenal fans have a transfer to be excited about :D!

Seems Stoke have now agree'd a fee of 2.5 million with Sheff Utd for James Beattie, if this means our former Juventus frontman Pericard is destined for the bench for the rest of the season i'm not happy.

In truth though this would be something else that we need, he's of a proven pedigree and should fit our system quite well.

£2.5m for Beattie is a bargain, i would have though closer to £5m would have been more realistic

Very bad business selling him for that. We only bought him last season for £4m.

Now just waiting for Naughton and Kenny to go. :/

Don't worry, you have Howard to lead your promotion chase :p

Shut up :P

We have no promotion chase anyway this season. Our football this season has been terrible most of the time. If i see any more long balls i think im going to cry.

In seriousness though, what's your take on him?

No doubt about him being a decent player, but we're playing far better without his ego in the side. I never rated him as our best player anyway, Anderson is a class apart.

He is a good player. But yeah, his ego gets in the way of his feet. Already been a couple of rumours of him falling out with people in the club.
