Received these in post today but suprised at how blue they look.

Do they look road legal?

Where did you get them from?
EDIT: Link removed as the rules seem sketchy over eBay links.

It was an eBay store called Xenon Bulbs Direct

XENON BULBS ICE BLUE HID SET INCLUDES:

2 X ICE BLUE (6500K) H4 55/60 Watt Dipped (driving) / High (main) beam bulbs
and a pair of ICE White sidelight bulbs

The ICE BLUE Xenon headlight bulbs gives a superb white light with a very distinctive blue tint to give your car that modern HID look without any of the cost!

The double blue filter reduces the yellow light emitted from the headlights whilst the XENON gas allows the bulb to burn considerably brighter to produce up to 50% more usable light on the road than a normal halogen gas filled bulb yet consume the same power!
All of our bulbs are made from Quartz glass for plastic lens compatibility.

Please look in our shop for other kits that include fog light bulbs

E APPROVED & LEGAL FOR ROAD USE
6 months guarantee on ALL bulbs!

They look similar to halfords laser blue (55w) and ultra blue (70w) bulbs.

They are both marked "for show use" on the box. Not that I didn't get through two MOT's with them (ultra blue) installed mind.

The headlights should be ok. You have to remember that the light output from these things is rather a lot and you'll need a lot of blue to really make an impact on the colour.

The sidelights I'm a bit more concerned about.

Why don't you fit them to one side of the car only and compare them? Be aware that doing this will exaggerate the blue effect somewhat.

I'm not convinced they wont end up looking chavvy, but try them and decide for yourself.

Those blue sidelights will get you pulled most likely.

nope

usually with these sidelights they are a white bulb, but with a blue coating on the casing

this means they glow a pure white, like a white LED.

Ive got them in my car, dont look in the slightest bit blue, but the casing (if you look close) are very blue.

That's also what I've been told.

Will hopefully be fitting tomorrow so may put a pic up once installed.
