Anyone watch Ross Kemp in Liverpool?

I didnt watch the whole of the show...got too annoyed so dont know exactly who Jimmy is but, yes I do. The convo would go similar to.

Jimmy: oi bruv, can I score some weed like? I as a knive innit bruv
SA Gangmember: *point gun....bap bap bap* *queue rape and pillage* *walk calmly off*

I've got a Saffer mate who got robbed at gun point somewhere in Cape Town. He said the most scary part of the ordeal was strangely enough not the gun against his head, but the 8 year old boy holding it, never breaking the smile on his face. No anger, not anxious to get the loot and run, just pure and cold calculation and being oddly amused at the same time. And this is only a young criminal in training. My mate said he had zero doubt that if he had put a foot wrong, the kid would've blown his head off.

No, our 'gangs' are not even close to being 'tough'. Drop any of them in Rio's favellas or on the Cape Town flats and they'll be screaming for the nice cushty comfort of England....and their mommies :)

It was on Sky One a few nights go.

I'm from Widnes (just outside Liverpool) and go to Liverpool Uni so I found it quite interesting. It was basically two gangs who hate each other for no reason. The age of the gang members seemed to be 18 to 23.

I think the main reason why these young adults became part of gangs is because of the lack of parental authority. It was made obvious when they spoke to the mother of one of the kids who was shot in the back of the head, twice with a shotgun.

The guy lent his friend £200 and went round to his friends mum's house to see if he was there. He wasn't so as he left he picked up a bike and "just threw it behind him". It went through the window. Getting shot in the head isn't a reasonable response to that but the mum was trying to make it sounds like her kid hadn't done anything wrong. RIP to the guy but none of the kids sound like they're clean. If his mum had kept better control over him he might have not involved with that group.

To be fair to Liverpool it doesn't deserve the rep it gets. I'm not the biggest fan of the place but it's only one post code (L11) out of the whole city.

I did watch the show, Have not read the rest of the topic yet but just wanted to say, when ross interviewed her she said she got a phonecall from a friend saying the kids aunty was in netto (The one that shot with a shotgun) she then carried on to say she headbutt the person into a freezer makes you think about what kind of influence that kid had.

It reminded me immensely of the "Britain's Toughest Towns" episode on Belfast. Some chav kid killed himself after getting a punishment beating, so they had an interview with his mother. It went like this :

"My Barney was standing out on the street drinking a beer [bear in mind he was a 15 year old] and this guy came out to him and told him to move on. Barney says 'well, I'm only standing here so why should I move - you know?' then this guy puts his hand on his shoulder, so Barney acted instinctively and hit him. The guy was then like, 'you're in for it now Barnes'. The next night seven...SEVEN of them came into my house and took my Barney away....."

You know for a FACT that that little **** was tarnishing a neighbourhood, drinking in the street and mouthed off to the wrong person while doing so. The mothers' versions of events are so laughably transparent it's actually quite depressing as you can tell they really are convinced of what they're spouting.

The mother in the Ross Kemp show was just as bad - it's very easy to tell how her son ended up dead due to gang involvement when you hear her speak about it.

With regards to these "hard nut" gang members, I agree whole-heartedly. They're generally worthless cowards and Ross describing them as "intelligent" made me and the Mrs. laugh out loud. They're obviously thick as pig**** but Ross didn't want to say that on camera and anger them. "Afghanistan got nothin' here" - yeah right, punks. Stick these ****s in Fallujah for 30 minutes and they'll look like minstrels they'll be so covered in their own faeces.

I also laughed how they went on about "This ain't the US here, no bandanas and all that ****". This was very noticable in how they also hid their faces and mumbled behind their hoods/scarves. Funny how all the REAL hardcore gangsters and killers in other episodes/countries had no trouble with showing their faces and letting everyone know who they were. Those are the real dangerous people.

Not these filthy paper gangster hood scum.

I dont know if i do?

It’s on now on Sky1HD and you can’t help but laugh at how pathetic they look compared to the usual gangs abroad Ross Kemp interviews.

Made me laugh about how there intelligent. I don't disagree with that but only intelligent in certain ways. But it's sad in a way. Shame they don't think there doing anything wrong. Guess they will end up in prison eventually or living off the benefits!
