I'm guessing that the guy with the cam isn't a Muslim, since he's ignored what sounded suspiciously like the Adhan (call to prayer). But hey, so has most of the neighbourhood.

It was like that when we visited Istanbul. Call to prayer blasts out from every possible direction; people just keep on doing what they're doing. Now I know Turkey is officially a secular state, but about 90% of the population is Muslim; you'd think they'd at least take some notice.

I just saw one of those 'squid like' things. I'm guessing it's flares let off by the jets flying over? Or not?

I just saw a rocket get launched from Gaza too.

Edit: Seems that these are all cluster bombs? And the things that look like flares falling to the ground are actually the bombs on parachutes floating down.

Seen 3 - 4 of these now. I thought cluster bombs were illegal?
