Idiots!!!! (more ! for more emphasis right?)

Frustration is understandable but not this long after the game has finished...maybe a little evaluation of what is important in life. Yes they were harsh but that's how some people are, no point in getting too worked up over it as it's a game, move on and enjoy another round with a group of mates.

Also you would have come off better if you hadn't gone and TKed them after the vote. If anything your retaliation only served to vindicate their decision to kick you so a friend could take your spot.

I wouldn't personally see L4D as a game that you are very likely to see TKing in (unless the people that are TKed are complete ****wits as per my original post) due to the fact that if one person is dead then its one less person to kill the horde!

edit - the only time people have shot me, they have generally apologised and vice versa. In general the player base is fairly mature

I was referring more to Battlefield\Battlefront, I haven't played Left 4 Dead. Anyway my point was teamkilling in response to being voted out is stupid and immature...

Im not still worked up over it at all - generally im about as chilled out as they come. For some reason though if I look back it still annoys the hell out of me.

Hmm reading that sentence doesn't really make sense.....hopefully you get the gist. Its only this thread that really reminds me!

I act in pretty much the same way online as I would in real life - I find it annoying that people act differently online simply because their actions (for the most part) can't be traced back to them.

Really? Well you're entitled to your opinion - I disagree. I think abusing a game mechanism designed to remove someone that is being stupid / ruining a game is in itself worthy of being shot at.

If you played football with a team in a league and after a few games you were told to leave cos someone's mate turned up wouldn't you be understandably annoyed? I cant really find a suitable analogy for shooting them but I hope you get the idea

Find another server or another game if its too endemic.

To use an example of a game I play semi-regularly: I found when playing the team modes in UT\UT2004 there was improvised teamwork (hopping on the sides of a one-man hovercraft) and general friendly atmosphere even if you weren't a regular on that particular server. People even complimented each other on good shots. It also helps that accidental teamkilling is impossible because most servers have friendly fire disabled.

Like I said, find another server. Really, there is no use waxing lyrical about it on here.

Fair enough, was only giving my opinion.

Generally all the servers are great to play on, original post was just wanted to rant at (imho) ****heads.

You used a poor example if that was your point ;) like I said, the battlefield engine games are many times worse as far as ungentlemanly play is concerned.

say what now? are you drunk?

no i most certainly wasn't, left 4 dead is just about the biggest heap of garbage i have played recently, i mean in what way is it supposed to be brilliant? it gets nothing but praise here and i can't for the love of jesus figure out why..

OK, having never been kicked I have no experience of it but I have to ask, how did you teamkill two of them after being kicked? Did you pre-empt the kicking and go for first blood?

tell me about it I got player banned from a CSS server whe theres as only 6 ppl on because i hade the same name as one of them :/

You could at least have read through my post before commenting :/ We had all played from the lobby through to the final level on expert (easily an hour of gameplay) and I was vote kicked so their mate could join. I can't imagine anyone would think that is reasonable....hell im still a bit angry

Iv got no problems with being kicked from a lobby...although if you notice there is the option to only let friends join your game!

Hmm, well if they didn't tell you that's a bit lame but other than that, I guess it's okay for them to do it.

Also like I said, I'm not sure but even with friends only I get people that are probably from the "groups" i'm in but not in my friends per-say.

Not sure about that.

What I do hate though is the lack of server to play on, games taking 20mins to start...I never play public games ever, so messy.

I can relate to the OP as my first and only experience with L4D on pc was very similar to his.

I don't mind it if people want me to leave, it's just common courtesy to ask first. Very frustrating if every one just reaches for the vote kick or TKs you until you leave.

I can understand the OP's frustration. If you've been playing with them on expert for over an hour and have helped them get to the final level they should have at least asked you to leave. I got kicked by some foreigners once after I had helped them to the last level. Luckily I had onlt played a couple of levels on advanced mode, but it was still annoying. TK two of them for unfair kick? Not too mature no, but then I don't blame you. If they asked you first if you minded and you answered badly, then I understand them wanting to kick you anyway (also if you were a hamper all the way through).

I've left a server before when asked - also been voted off for no apparent reason. Anyone whose played with me knows I'm reasonably competent, quite friendly and I just get on with the game (I know some folk think I laugh too much/loud, but I often turn my mic off for that reason in random games).

At least you got an explanation for being booted! (and TK'ing under any circumstances is bad....unless you're embroiled in a game of Safehouse Deathmatch)

I didnt necessarily say it was the most mature response in the world :p I wouldn't however hesitate to do it again - I maintain that they are without doubt in the wrong :)

Oh and in response to the other question they just said 'our friend can play now' and started the vote. We were close enough together for me to gun two of them down before I was kicked.
