£34.50 inc vat???
Capacitor squeal, don't know why though.
How does the performance of a lone 280 GTX compare to SLI 8800GT's anyone?
Tempted to upgrade for that price tbh (if its an upgrade)
From what I remember its capacitor squeal under extreme load and can be caused by fluctuations on the rails from the PSU.
I've had it happen on 260s, 280s, 4870 and 4870x2. Its happened the least on my current PSU to the point of it can only be heard with the case side off, it happened more with a 550w PC P&C silencer and also happened a bit on a Zalman 850w. The Corsair 1000w is doing very nicely.
Depends on the game, in SLI enabled games the GT's would be faster.
Well you can easily fix the squealing issue if you are prepared for a bit of modding work!
This has been a problem since 8600/8800 series.
Evga do not use the standard Nvidia reference Pcb boards.

I would take one GTX280 over two 8800gts in SLI any day.
