Stag Berlin or Prague?

Hi all,

I'm looking at places to go for my 40th / stag weekend and have got it down Berlin or Prague - but I can't decide. I looked at flight and Berlin is cheaper but with the Euro everything is going to be more expensive. Prague flight are dearer but I don't know how much thing cost etc.


I've been to Tallinn, got friend how live in Dublin so I'm not going there and I've ruled out Bratislava as it Prague but smaller.

I went to Berlin on a stag weekend (East berlin) and it was amazing. Beers worked out to about £2 Euro each and there are loads of amazing places to go.

Been to Prague too and it is amazing as well. You'll pay more for booze there though unless you find some more non-tourist places. We found one place which was about 70p per beer
 
Prague is not cheap anymore.

The exchange rate is down to 29 (27 last week) and the price of food and drink has really gone up here.

Its also really cold at this time of year, it was -14'C a few days ago
 
Been to Prague many times over the past few years. Definitely prefer Summer over Winter ;)

You can get beers for 29CZK just off the normal roads, which is around £1 these days. Normally around 40CZK ~£1.33 on the tourist bits.

Few good clubs you should check out are the 5 Story (Karlovy Lazne) purely for the cheese. Radox FX was decent, and Roxy was an awesome night out (just a shame they haven't invested in AC)
 
Have decided on berlin, i've read that everything is spread out and that a guide would be good. I tried to look at www.myberlintours.com but the link doesn't work or that have gone bust.

ANyone got any recommendations?

I must have missed that one LOL. There is a great beer garden near the Zoo in the Tiergarten.

Get The Rough Guide to Berlin as it is invaluable for finding all the off the beaten track places. Oh and Berlin is big so a map may help but the whole city is covered by a very very efficient public transport system. Then again would you expect anything less from the Germans? LOL
 
Ive been to both.. Berlin several times more as I used to live in Germany...I personally would say Berlin as I think that although Prague will have places to go out etc.. I think Berlin is much more geared up to provide an awesome stag weekend. Lots of bars, shed loads of cheap german beer, red light district for strip bars etc and a beautiful city. People are a great laugh there too in the bars/clubs/pubs etc. Congrats btw ;)
 
I dont see why people think Prague has gone expensive, you can easily get a meal and a few pints of Pilsner Urquell for under £8. I rarely pay more than £1 per pint over there and thats that upper end of the scale for the best lager in the world.

The person who said that Prague is just full of drunk Brits must have gone to some rough, sleazy places as I've only ever seen drunk Brits there once in Wenceslas Square, although I prefer nights out in Prague a little further out of the centre from there.
