Rock Band - Broken kick pedal - alternative kits?

Hi all... Well I've been a very happy RB1 owner for a year now, and sadly my bass pedal has finally given up the ghost, with a big crack on the top of the footrest where the orange oval bit is (it was a combination of Battery by Metallica and Burn by NIN).

What are my options for a replacement? Can I get the kick pedal alone replaced?

Also, does anyone know when the stand-alone RB2 and Guitar Hero World Tour drum kits are coming out?

I got RB2 solus last week and I'm pretty disappointed that now, when doing fills, all the pads are toms - meaning no cymbal action, so I'd quite like to get a new controller to have proper cymbal action again. Which is the best out of the RB2 and GH:WT drums? The GH pads have velocity sensors, but the RB2 has the possibility for more pads, with 4 pads and 3 cymbals...

Thanks for any advice!

Sorry, should have made that clearer... I already have GH:WT solus... Any idea when the drums for it are coming out on their own?

Did you import it or buy it in the UK?

Pretty sure EA have a replacement policy for the pedals as there were quite a few of them breaking when the game first came out.

Fill the online replacement form in and they'll send you a new pedal, I recieved both of my replacements withi a couple of days.

Mines lasted over a year but to be honest it's been lent out for about 6 months of that, and I haven't got a heavy right foot :)

hmm if i say my guitar hero pedal has broke do they just send you a replacement no questions? i quiet fancy the idea of using 2 via a headphones spliter.

has anyone tried plugging the pedal into the black socket? I'm gonna try it later. the Metallica game is going to support 2 pedals apparently.

A headphone splitter will work for two pedals on the GH:WT kit but not the Rock Band kit. This is because of the way they work. Rock Band uses a magnetic contact, so when the pedal is held down, the contact is closed, so pressing another pedal won't open it then close it again.

On the GH:WT kit, the kick pedal is a piezo (same as the pads), so only registers when it's hit. Holding it down does nothing to stop another pedal registering a hit. It's a bit like pressing on a pad with one stick, then hitting it with the other stick.

As I asked originally... any idea when the standalone kits for RB2 or GH:WT will be available without the game?

RB2 instruments were supposed to be appearing this month, no idea if that is still the case though.

I have 3 pedals and have tried 2 on a headphone splitter and it kinda works although you have to fully raise one pedal before pressing down on the next. To get it working properly with the RB kit you need one of these

I have one of these and confirm it is awesome :D doing some of the fast double bass sections with 2 pedals is schweet

I too am waiting for the RB2 standalone kit as my 3rd RB1 kit gave up the ghost a little while ago, I heard Jan as well but how reliable that is I don't know. Just to let you know an online store has put the RB2 Madkatz 3 Cymbal pack up for pre-order, saying it's released 6th Feb. Might be an indication :)
