Anyone find the circumstances of this all a bit 'odd'? It's about the somali pirates taking the oil tanker and their subsequent payoff.

The body of a Somali pirate who reportedly drowned soon after receiving a huge ransom has washed ashore with $153,000 in cash, his uncle says.

Eyewitnesses in the coastal town said five of the pirates had drowned while trying to make off with the loot.

Three pirates managed to survive, but lost their share of the ransom when swimming to shore, reports said.

The drowned pirate was apparently the only one who managed to hold on to his share of the ransom.

That's quite amazing. They board a tanker, hold it hostage for two months, get their money and yet decide to swim ashore, they almost all drown and the only survivors who made it back to land lost all their money.

The pirates' boat capsized when they were hit by rough seas as they were heading back to their homes in central Somalia
They didnt try to swim ashore.

Did you see how they received the ransom? It was like something out of a James Bond film. A twin engine Beechcraft (I think) flew low over the tanker and the ransom was pushed out and parachuted down to the thieves below.

Or there were submerged SEAL/SBS teams in the water waiting for them.... with lead ankle bracelets or a small dose of muscle paralytic...

I'm not even sure who the real thieves are, the pirates or the arabs who own the oil. yeh i went there

Cool drop off though!
