10 points for someone if they know where thats from :) Good times

How does one go about buying gold?

You can buy coins (for small amounts) or open an allocated gold account (useful for larger amounts). Bought some coins a few years ago when I thought the economy would crash (got laughed at by my mates at the time). I'll see if I can recall where I got them (bit drunk right now lol).

Do you have an ISA? If not, the best ISA deal you can get is maybe the best choice for £1k.

Depends. An ISA is simply a tax efficient wrapper around other investments. It's not really an investment as such as it depends on what you actually invest in.

my physics teach always told us to invest in hear aids when we are older as by the way things are going, we'll all need em cause of our ipods etc. That's where i'd go ^^

ISA is no longer the best place to save your money. If you are serious about gold, I would say buy BlackRock Gold & General funds, they have solid experience BUT gold has fallen price a lot from the high point..

Investment can be many things, how about invest it in you by getting into a course and get a certificate of some sort?

True, but the choice of funds with ISAs is huge. I admit I'm a noob at investments, but I dare anyone to say they are an expert in the current climate - personally I'm putting money into an ISA-wrapped OEIC in Hong Kong/China, just because of the potential for share prices in that area of the world. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm for the long haul and I'm not committing everything I have to it.
