Omega watch repair

I have a fairly old Omega Seamaster which had its battery changed (sent to omega) about 3 years ago. For some reason it has started to let in water which has now eroded the glow in the dark materials from the background and handles :(

The watch has since stopped working. Has anyone got an idea of how much something like this is to repair?

This is a picture of the watch in question. (sorry no pics of it in its damaged state)

Misleading title, thought it was going to be one more of those conspiracy theories about some "Omega" who watch people :o.

Well a complete restoration of a 1956 Omega Ladymatic 455 (I think - smallest auto mechanical watch of its time) cost me about £450. So I'd hope it'll cost you less than that - but then mine was still ticking along, albeit losing lots of time.

well, you could try and say that because Omega didn't repait it properly last time, causing it to seep water, they should restore it for free, but i'm not convinced this'd work.

depends if movement damaged

will need a reseal and anew dial, maybe £120-200 plus a new movemnt if needed

Thanks for your help, I'm going to send it to Omega Boutique, Old Bond St, London for an estimate.

do you think that's the best idea? Or do you think someone like watch-doctors would be a better plan?

if they can get the parts I would use an independent watchmaker, its a failry simple movemnt in that watch so prob not worth paying Omega prices

Ensure whoever does it pressure tests it though

Update:

sent the watch to Omega in the end (missed your post Rotty!) had an estimate back at £205 for a full refurb which includes dial repair, new hands and service.

Going to go with it, Thanks again for you help
