The friend (the druggy one) is dead
The friend died in Redemption you saw them pouring concrete over his body.
I think anyone coming into Season 7 without having watched Redemption is missing out on a lot of things, the entire plot seems to revolve around many of the characters introduced in Redemption.

Is that confirmed? I've watched 4 episodes of season 7 but can't remember hearing anything, I know he was practically done for in Redemption but don't know for sure.

They did, im sure it was in last nights!
Though, i had only watched redemption in the morning before, so my mind might be playing tricks!
It's at the very end of Redemption when they do one of those multiple scene things.
Very average start I must say, soon as it started me & my friend both said, there will be a leak in FBI blah blah blah, it is basically the same crap as the last seasons just not in LA/CTU like usual.

Yeah but if you remember at the end of Redemption John Voight's character basically says outright to his bodyguard/driver that the President's son has to be dealt with despite the evidence that his friend had being destroyed. I don't think he actually says the words that he has to die but it's strongly implied.
Then queue the new season a few months later and the President's son has topped himself

Ok lets clear this up lol:
Redemption:
1:The Presidents sons friend approaches the son about his mistake of helping transfer money from the company he works at to a offshore terrorist account.
2: Presidents son demands proof before he goes and tells the president (Mummy).
3: The friend is killed before he can send the email off. He is covered in cement at the end of Redemption.
4: Some bad guy says he will watch the presidents son to make sure he never has any evidence about the bank account. His minion says not to worry all he has is a wild theory with no evidence.
Season 7
1: In between this time it is apparant that the presidents son has commited suicide. Knowing what we do we can read between the lines that he was murdered, perhaps he got the evidence he was looking for or wouldn't stop investigating his friends disappearance.
2: The Presidents Husband suspects his sons death was not a suicide. He has hired a private investigater who has found out that his sons girlfriend received a very large payment into an off shore account only 3 days after his sons "suicide". He knows his sons girlfriend is lying about where the money came from but will anyone else believe him?
My mind must be mixed up about this then, because im sure that when voight told the bloke the son should be eliminated it was at the start of the inaugranation (or whatever the word is!) of his mum, the rest of the day was from then on wasnt it? or was that again at a later period?
