Hi all, ok Asda just rang the wife and said to her that a shop we got from them on 2nd January which amounted to £76 never went through as their payment system went down and they never recieved the money. They asked for the payment but as I had the card on me my Wife wasnt ablr to pay them, so they asked her to contact them to arrange payment. Should I pay them or just ignore them ?

where do I stand legally if I dont pay up?

They messed up, just ignore them.

You've received goods but not paid for them (due to a processing problem that is neither your fault nor theirs). Why would you not want to pay for them - are you some kind of thief?

well look at your bank statement/credit card bill
if you haven't paid, pay. i you have, tell them where to go

It dosent show up on my statement so I do owe them it but I was just wondering if I ignored them would they chase me for it?

The transaction worked. The payment didn't go through for whatever reason (maybe a delay causing the authorisation to expire).

Just say you will wait till the end of the month for your statement & could they call you back then. If they dont you get it for free, if they do then just cough up.
