the press are just doing there best to find people to be offended.

If he was black, or a hand puppet, I could just about understand the fuss. But he isn't.

The guy has said he has no problem with being called "Sooty", and all his mates use it too:


An Asian polo club member referred to by the Prince of Wales as "Sooty" has said Charles has "zero prejudice".

Kolin Dhillon said the nickname used by his friend was a "term of affection with no offence meant or felt".

'The media' wants one thing; for people to read its stories. Everything else, politics, information, is secondary. Whether people read them because they're interested or because they're outraged at the stupidity of the story doesn't matter to the media. If you want the media to change stop buying papers with stupid stories and stop clicking the link.

Yes it's a stupid story, yes it's probably not racist, no you shouldn't waste your breath being outraged at the media. The media gives the people who pay for it what they want.

Probably, but it's sometimes more complicated than that. Some blacks under apartheid didn't mind the overt racism; they were used to it, or didn't care, or whatever. It doesn't mean it wasn't racist.
 
Pathetic to be honest. Yet another non-story.

I'm so glad we have such an attentive media in the UK, oh so ready to wage their McCarthy-esque racism witch-hunt and get themselves so outraged on our behalf. What a ******* shame they can't turn their righteous anger on those that really deserve their scorn, namely our lame-ass Government :mad:
