Could you secretly spend £5k?

Here's a question for all the married folk, or those in long term relationships.
If you came into a moderate sum of money, say £5k in this scenario, and wanted to spend it without the other half knowing, could you?

1) On what?
2) How?

Obviously drugs and women are too easy an answer, so that doesn't count.

Sadly, this hasn't happened to me but it was one of those odd situations that crossed my mind!

So, could you?;)
 
I could probably spend a fair wack on a new PC and my GF wouldnt notice or I could just tell her its all second hand and cheap.

The rest Id have to put into shares or something like that to stop her noticing.
 
you would have to do it slowly and in small amounts. Unless the item you buy does not have to be on show to be in use i.e. components to go in side an existing pc case.

How so? If I earned it why should I need to ask my wife's permission to spend MY own money? If any woman thinks I'm going to ask before I spend my money she can **** right off. No doubt there will be a joint account into which I would deposit a suitable amount of money.
 
Build yourself a nice AV system, but lie about the prices. From experience, the majority of women have absolutely no idea a decent AV Receiver costs for example.
 
My mate has, supposidly, over the past two months spent over £2k on nights out and alcohol. So I reckon it can't be that hard.
 
Buy whatever you want, but save £10 to buy a kitchen knife with. Then threaten her life if she asks any questions!

Or leave whatever you buy in a room thats not the kitchen, she should never find it!
