Some of you may remember me buying a e39 540i over 2 years ago.

Well I still got it and it has just passed 200,000 miles

Gotta love German engineering!

The front bumper and skirts are part of the Sport kit, but the rear bumper is SE/similar. IIRC its a prefacelift car with a facelift front end added.

I think it looks good, however IMO it'd benefit from the rear bumper too. Each to their own I suppose

I'd love to see some archived posts of the nay sayers in your initial thread when you were considering the car - I know me & Fox were a bit wary! - if anybody needed proof that cheap BMW's can be viable, look no further than your own example.

The "swearie" is fully stared out, 'ing' 'ed' etc. don't need to be stared out, it's been mentioned many, many times before.

It does look a bit half hearted with facelift lights and Sport bumper but the old grille, old back lights, SE rear bumper and those fake M5 wheels but it hardly looks 'crap'.

I'm pretty sure I was one of the nay-sayers.
My E39 540i was on it's last legs by 100k. Everything started to go wrong with it.

its a 4litre V8 iirc? i wouldnt expect anything less than 200k, hardly surprising!
