Who else is watching derren brown atm on C4 ?

How do you guys think he did the levitating table trick? Magnets?

I think most of what he does can be explained by the participant being hypnotised prior to the show.

Notice how he threw that card in the pot with good accuracy? Shows he's been practising with a Frisbee ;)

The table was very light, I imagine he was holding it up with some part of his body, or something strapped to it.

As for the Frisbee comment, he gets the audience to throw them at each other... have they been practising too? :P

But the whole point of his "Horse Racing" stunt was to show you what 90% of the "Tips Hotline" etc company's are doing.

By seeing this "scam" in play, hopefully people won't ring up 60p/min phone lines or send money to tipsters who do exactly the same as he did on his show.

could been explained in 5 minutes. total waste of time and not a genuine trick or illusion.

In another show he did, he talks about how people moan about him using frisbees and claim he practices with a frisbee. So he used a monkey throwing it into the crowd, then making the crowd throwd it around another 3 or 4 times.

No way he fixes who is selected, it's all really clever stuff. In the other show he basically subliminally says things throughout the show to get the outcome he wants at the end. An before the end plays back himself saying these things, and I didn't notice at all,but it's so blatent when played back!

I can only think there was a rod going up the corner of the cloth. I have seen this done live as well as last night and it definitely looks as if the table is being pushed up from underneath rather then suspended by anything above it, giving it a much more spooky motion.

I think Derren must have had some kind of rod up his sleeve that went up his arm to a back support.

i hate this people always seem to say stooges too, he invited one guy up on the show we went to in 06 i think it would have been (as gone to see him twice) guy basically shouted "stooge" has him up chose a number between 1 and a 100... blam he gets it right :D everyone laughed

True, this:

is my sister in law, took about 3-4 mths to get all that into place, just for 10mins of showtime.

There's a few continuity errors I noticed in that one when it was on TV. There's a blue flashing light that appears and disappears on the bonnet of the Discovery (for some reason). Perhaps it's just due to the editing, but it does make me wonder.

I thought the whole idea of Derren Brown (just like James Randi) is to do paranormal type tricks while admitting he's doing tricks and making fools out of psychics etc.

How do you explain it going up when only the audience member was holding it then? :p

I'm pretty sure Derren was at least touching it at all times, even when he said "you've got it now" he was still at least in contact with the table ;)

What's great about this particular show is that he started touring about two years ago and yet still nobody seems to have any decent ideas as to how he does any of the tricks (ignoring the floating table one).
