Toilet wont stop filling with water >_<

So basically I went for a waz, 10 minutes later realised that the toilets filling with water and not stopping and it's starting to leakk now :-/

And I got no idea how to stop it or turn the water off!

Need backup! :-(

What type of toilet?

If it's an old style, lift the lid up and reset the ballcock. If new style, find the float and reset/adjust it. If it's one like mine, good luck! As the seals probably gone.

EDIT - unless you mean the bowl is leaking. In which case, blockage!

On a more serious note you could turn your water off where it comes into the house. In ours it's under the sink

Try giving that blue ballcock a wiggle.

I just found the water valve and turned it off...

My dad comes back next week, Will have to leave it off till he returns :-(

*gets bowl to cack in*

see that white bit, turn on the water and pull it up, if it stops flowing then jiggle it up and down a couple of times and see if it stops when you return it to the original state. if it does, flush and see what happens, if not prop it up with somthing.

Then also check that the float isnt bust and is actually full of water. that way it wouldnt float
