Im having heating issues with my Sapphire Radeon 4870X2 even with 60% fan which is as noisy as hell. Im also experiencing artifacts in Battlefield 2142 which isnt the most demanding game!
30% Fan
Idle: 81c
Load 99+c Turbo Fan Kicks In for 8 Seconds repeats after 30 secs more play
40% Fan
Idle: 75c
Load 96c Turbo Fan Kicks In for 6 Seconds repeats after 40 secs more play
50% Fan
Idle: 69c
Load 89c Turbo Fan Kicks In for 6 Seconds repeats after 80 secs more play
60% Fan
Idle: 60c
Load 83c Turbo Fan Kicks In for 6 Seconds repeats after 120 secs more play
70% Fan
Idle: 52c
Load 79c
100% Fan
Idle: 41c
Load 67c
The card has always run a tad warm but i used to be able to game at 45-50% fan now i can only game at 60 - 70% fan.
The card had a clean with compressed air about 8 weeks ago although there is a very light dusting on the CPU cooler.
Card is running at stock, CPU is OC and idles at 47c and load = 58-60c
The photo below is a month old and since then the wires have been put through the back so none are obstructing airflow.
As you can see there is a huge fan on the side directly aiming at the Graphics card.
Any suggestions? many thanks.
