If you're a patient person, then watch away. As above it's a visual spectacle, but as a film it's drawn out and massively self indulgent in places and left me feeling massively underwhelmed and a bit cheated after the build up.
I think if you saw it when it was released the hype and new techniques used in the film would have made a difference to the film's appeal, but against today's films with complex and involving story lines it pales in comparison.
I've got the other (and much boo'd upon by Clarke purists) film to watch at some point as well which apparently makes a bit more sense of the original's storyline - anyone care to comment on that?
