Questions:

1. Does the http://www.war-europe.com website work for anyone else in Firefox yet? Still broken for me...

2. Where the frik is the EU Server Status page. They've had it in the US for ages.

Well, actually the EU website just sucks generally...steaming pile of <bleep>. But then, its pretty reflective of GoA as a whole.

The site always has worked in Firefox, it's composed almost entirely in Flash, so any problems with it are likely to be browser independent. It is indeed a horrible site, but if you visit GoA's own website you'll see they have a penchant for them.

No idea about a Server Status page, I was surprised they added the Realm War page when they did, so I wouldn't hold my breath for any more features. Terrible company.

Am getting all angry about the constant spam to resurrect in warbands. It's almost annoying as all the clueless rogues in WoW with no idea on aggro management and skill level 1 in first aid with that stupid 'HEAL!' macro for everytime they drop under 70%!

Agree , as much as I dislike wow it's so much better .

Well wintergrasp is far from a lag free experience.
As has been said on the wow-europe forums regarding pvping in wintergrasp, "welcome to 10sec cast instants at peak times".

Warhammer does quite well in big fights, its usually graphics lag that is the biggest pain. Latency issues only tend to become an issue in fortress fights.

Still WoW has the edge when it comes to fluidity in combat, but I would like WoW to have collision detection as I think it would be a lot better than just running through someone to abuse line of sight.

Think I'll try out some destruction characters when I get the archmage to level 40. Stuck at level 30 at the moment though just messing around casually in orvr in Avelorn need a couple thousand more INF to get an epic staff before I move on for an outnumbered law of averages beasting in T4.

Despite being heavily bored of this game I'm still keeping up to date on announcements every now and then, and have seen a lot of rumour telling about a possible new career in the next few months.. either a Dwarf Hammerer or Dwarf Troll Slayer

Hehe, I've commented about this in the past may times in PvE especially Gunbad.

1. assist the MT when they call. Don't switch targets unless they call it. Ping-pong damage means that healers can't predict who is getting hit, when and the resulting heal-spam required results in zero action-points and a dead raid party.

2. If there are adds then secondary MT will tank them, all other DPS/tanks should assist MT. Healers will heal MT and ST. If you tank you will be left to die for not following instructions. It's easier to rez you when the fight is over and the loot has been handed out.

3. If you get hit - switch off auto attack, stop attacking and avoid/evade/detaunt. When the mob starts hitting the MT then wait a while until MT has build agro again.. then start - slower DPS.. You may survive.

4. If you can't avoid 3 then sit and wait until the mob reaches past 1/2 health and then open up with everything (MT should have enough agro by then!). You may survive.

5. Healers will not heal you if you pull off agro from the MT.. because when your pitiful armour and hit points get raped by the mob, the additional healing required to keep you standing mean that the healer is at the top of the agro list and with their lack of AC and HP they will last about 1/10 of the time you did.. closely followed by the rest of the raid.

Simply put - know this healer priority list (assuming main healing chain):
1. Designated Main Tank
2. Designated Secondary Tank
3. Designated Third Tank
4. Higher ranked Healer
5. Healer themselves
6. Lower ranked healer
7. Group member axillary Tanks, DPS
8. WB member axillary Tanks, DPS
9. Individual jumping around in front of them with the agro'd mob screaming heal me.

In larger raids you'll have a secondary healers:
a) designated for healer/aux (ie 3 down)
b) rezzers (ie dealing with any rez request and restoration to full health).

Rez takes an AM two seconds. Two seconds of un-disturbed casting when they can't cast anything else. There's a tactic they can get that causes instant rez but then causes the AM to be stunned so you get rez first rather than after the unavailable time.. quite pointless as the rez'd individual needs to be healed anyway. At level 40 we get a group wide rez..
Both have to take the place of more useful abilities so aren't often used..

Another tip is to make a healing/rez channel. That way heal/rez macros can be used.
The reason nobody will rez anyone saying /1 need rez is because multiple healers will then click rez and multiple healers-1 will then be rather peeved that their multi-second cast time was just wasted only to get "your target is not dead".

Healers should have a macro set up to heal, rez, regen, heal-buff:
/3 Healing <target>
/cast <heal>

I would also be interested in testing a macro for DPS to protect healers:
Healer:
/1 HEALER HELP >>> *target* <<<<

DPS should have a macro that then targets the healer (this should be set up with a list of healers) and assist the healer.. that way the entire WB can instantly switch DPS to the target (ie RvR tank) attacking the healer.

Currently a 35 Archmage..

T4 is fun... I participated in a fortress attack with 9 server resets.

As a WP, I can safely say that PEOPLE SUCK AT REZZING.

I work my ass off to try and rez people whenever I can, in fact, I usually prioritise it, especially when a healer dies - its simple: more people alive = more dps/healing/meat sheilds.
So I work my ass off, die for my sins, then watch as countless AM's, WP's, RP run over my dead corpse and ignore me.

On the upside, as as serial ressurector, I'm loved by everyone, and I've had a few gifts for my trouble.

Lol, that makes the seiging in Age of Conan seem pretty stable in comparison, though you did suffer server lag and a graphics lag in an AoC seige.

Now that I think about it, I think I've only ever encountered the server reseting during a fortress seige once on my r40 sorc.

I could have written that myself, I feel like I've known you for years haha.

That depends on the situation.. Yes more people helps, although only if you're not propping up the meat sheilds..

When the Lord is engaged (ie you're on it's agro list) you can't use standard rez anyway - from what I understand only the level 40 AM group rez works for AMs. Hence people who have been healing probably can't rez you.

that's all well and good for pve.. rvr is a completely different kettle of fish. A healers priority is the one taking damage, and to res someone entirely depends on their role. If it's another healer, they get res'd stat, no matter who is taking damage at the time. If it's a caster/dps (inc. those oh so 'precious' WP's they seem to think they are,) it can wait a few seconds until everyone in group has a decent chunk of health, if it's a tank with KB or disable it'll be sooner. If you're just a tank, you can wait.

Actually - Lions with 'fetch' are good for protecting healers as they can pull the attacker back towards the melee tank/DPS too.

I might re-activate my account when Dwarf Slayer / Choppa be released!
For the moment playing LOTRO tho.

Did the game evolve in the good direction? Like do you feel less disconnected in combat, ie press spell button wait 2-3s for it to cast? Are the stuttering still heavily present?

It's ok, there's less issues - I normally play on max performance anyway (very few effects) to ensure that the massive T4 battles we get don't cause my poor old X1950XTX too much grief.

In the big battles, the servers don't crash as much now but you'll still get lag.
