Spiders, Scorpions & a Frog Oh My

Edit: Forum won't let me post a post of any length right now so I can't reply to all the various questions.

Enclosures:

The large tank on the left houses my Goliath Birdeater. The tank next to it houses the scorpions. The 3 plastic faunariums above house my Chile Rose, Chile Flame and Curly Haired spiders. The aquarium next to the scorpion tank houses the horned frog. The small tank just in front houses the trapdoor spider. The plastic fanuarium on the frog tank is where I keep locusts (I keep crickets in the bathroom as they're noisy) Just out of shot is a tank containing my purple tree spider and then the variety of tubs on the shelves house the remaining spiders which are obviously still quite young..

I keep them because I find them fascinating. They're all different be it colouring, behaviour, size etc. I've got 17 Tarantulas at the moment + 1 trapdoor spider and I say at the moment because I'm always adding to my collection.

These spider wouldn't survive our weather. Perhaps in Summer they'd be ok for a while but the larger ones might struggle to find enough food.

Escape is only really possible when feeding and watering. I've not had one escape yet.

Strangely I feel no urge to stand on any to see what would happen.

The Goliath is the biggest, it's still young at the moment (less than a year old) but already I'd guestimate the leg span at 5". This species can attain a 12" leg span.

Yes I do keep them in our bedroom. It's the warmest part of the house which means I don't have to give them any additional heating.

Plenty of them are aggressive but I believe the most venomous one is the Indian Ornamental. As an added precaution I've sellotaped the lid down on its tub lol

They're all very easy to look after and take very little time.

I haven't got a Toad, it's a Frog and it's not poisonous or venomous, it does bite though heh

If you're careful then you shouldn't get bitten by anything. I've not even come close yet and it's not something I worry about.

That's the thing, I'd be extremely paranoid about one escaping lol, regardless of how much tape I put around the lid. I'd have to super glue it down.

1) have you ever bred T's
2) is your Brachypelma albopilosum a mature female ? mine molted last month and now has his hooks.

Impressive collection, the thought of having that much in my bedroom is the part that would worry me!
Imagine pulling on a night out and bringing her home to find she was scared of spiders :p

I've got no intention of breeding. I was told the B.albopilosum was female but I've never bothered checking as it doesn't bother me either way.

That toad is awesome.

It's a Frog!

Obviously not married then?.....lol

No but I am engaged. She doesn't mind, she won't look at the scorpions but she's ok with everything in the bedroom.
